Some truths that I think should be talked about more…because this creator world can be a little 😵💫🩷1. Stop trying to go viral. - your audience can feel it and won’t like it. Be authentic and stay true to your brand.2. Engagement over Follower count.- I feel so thankful to be working with lots of great brands currently. None of them ask for how many followers I have. They ask about clicks and views. And it’s all relative to your follower count aka engagement with your audience. You will create a successful career if you focus on connecting and helping your audience ….Not just growing your follower count. 3. Don’t fall victim to the cool girl club.- yes it exists. Some brands and companies only want certain aesthetics or social status hierarchy over actual sales data and performance. It’s a part of the industry and you either have to be ok with it or you will try WAY too hard trying to be a part of it and miss on actually building your brand. 4. Overposting is ok. - it shows you care. It shows you are driven. And let’s be real, this is a business for lots and lots of creators. You earn more when you post more. So be thoughtful and creative with your posting, but it’s ok if you love lots of things and want to share. It’s our job to show and share. Who cares what the algorithm trends are - just share what you love 🤍5. Brand campaigns are our salary. Take them if it feels right. - in a commission heavy industry, taking brand deals ( #ad posts ) is our way of earning a monthly salary. We know that no matter if the algorithm is against us or if no one loves the post, we will still get our salary. And in order to get these brand deals, it takes a lot of hard work and consistent positive sales. So instead of this being viewed as a negative by so many, let’s turn the#ad posts into “you go girl” moments. Thats all I’ve got for tonight… but let me know if you have any truths or thoughts on this! I’m always an open book 🫶🏻
